Nick has never been afraid to be exactly who he is. Ever since he was young, he was obsessively drawn to music, it's one of the things he could never live without. He plays both the piano and the guitar and his singing voice has been able to hit any range he wants of it. He favors classical music, alternative and indie rock in particular. Nick is the “nice” guy who somehow bounces between social groups and he can't stand it when people act elitist. He would adamantly defend any of his friends and is the kind of guy that people will often turn to for advice. He's considered the leader of the “Misfits,” a group of LPA Stories who don't fit in with the elitist attitudes prep schools can breed. He's quite mischievous and will often get himself into one set of antics or the other just because he can. Nick is also charming and will brazenly use it to get himself out of trouble once in, but he would never use that part of his personality to hurt someone. He's also a total attention whore and he knows it. top Appearance  Nick's epic hair which has a legendary status of its own. Nick is the kind of good looking guy that makes girls go squee, add in that he's a musician and he officially qualifies as “catnip.” Nick stands at 6' 1” and 160lbs, but has the sculpted face and defined chin of a greek god. His brown hair is often styled and can simply not be controlled and his blue eyes are often bright with excitement and occasionally seductively intense. He's a stylish dresser, often leaning towards a certain sophisticated rumpled look or a more casual indie rocker depending on his particular mood. He frequently wears a leather wrist cuff made by his sister on his right arm. Nick was born as the twin brother of Pheobe Karras on a summer day in 1991. Bright and happy, he had a fairly normal childhood with a stable, happy family. He and his twin sister are best friends, and she often counts on him to be her link to the rest of the world. He and Pheebs were so little when they realized their Stories that they can't remember a time when they weren't aware of who they were. Nick can eve tell another “Greek” on sight, he just doesn't know “who” they were. The twins hated to be separated and responded horribly to attempts to split them up in elementary school. In the third grade, he made fast enemies of Julian Bradford and still refers to an incident where he hit him in the ear with a spitball after an argument that no one remembers the cause of. Nick also spent a lot of his childhood with Scout and Dessa Collins as their fathers have been best friends since their LPA days. As he got older, he realized several things. One, that he was very lucky to have the family that he did. Two, that girls were just fascinating. Three, that music was his life. Nick was singing before he could talk and started playing the piano as soon as he could crawl up onto the bench on his own. He also plays the guitar (both styles) and intends to make music his career in some manner. top Lakeside Preparatory Academy  Nick frequently plays the guitar during open mic night at the Dragon's Lair Nick was instantly popular in high school but never turned his back on his sister or quirkier friends. During his freshman year, he had annoyed Headmaster Higgins one time too many when Higgins decided to give him “community service” by putting him in Drama so that he could play the piano for the school musical. Nick took to drama almost as fast as music and it was during this production that he met Jayden Davison rising Queen Bee of LPA. With Nick being a shameless flirt, it wasn't too long before they started dating even of she was a sophomore. Jayden never could deal easily with his closeness to his sister and after a particularly nasty argument about it in the cafeteria, Nick public ally broke it off with her and they still hate each other to this day. It was at this time that Nick was banned from the only lunch table that wouldn't take him, a group some students referred to as the “Elites.” During his freshman year, Higgins infamously referred to him and his sister as “Little Misfits” and pretty soon the group that hung out with them were tagged with the title of “Misfits.” Nick runs this group more or less which is made up of other Stories. Nick also befriended AJ West this year, dubbing her his “detention buddy” because detention on your own is always boring. Nick has also been friends with the younger Reed siblings, Fae being his sister's best friend (after him) and Maggie having horrible unrequited crush on him. By his junior year, Nick began playing at the Dragon's Lair, a local club on their under 21 open mic night. The club is owned by J Xenakis and his niece Angelika has a terrible thing for Nick. top What's the Story Introduction Nick was first introduced with his twin sister Pheobe Karras as the two were washing the family pets (of which there are many), an event that often leads to doggie shampoo fighting. top Romantic Antics Nick gained two more friends very quickly in the spring semester of his junior year Rory Reed and Owen Dryden. He knows his two best friends have a thing for each other and is always trying to encourage them together, often to Owen's annoyance. He sees Julian Bradford as trying to interfere with their “relationship” and has gone as far as to sabotage Julian's attempts to spend time with Rory. Recently, Nick has been running more and more into Angelika Xenakis whom he shared a certain rapport with, unaware of he crush on him. He's been reluctant so far as to get into another relationship knowing most girls can't handle his closeness with Pheebs but has a horrible tendency to flirt with Angelika. He's also been trying to carefully avoid the attentions of Maggie Reed, much to the girl's dismay.top Storylines (Based on Matchbox 20 songs) Last Beautiful Girl: That one special girl that's just for Nick. She was drawn to his charismatic personality and he found something about her that made her stand out among all the other girls. angel_joanAngry: The ex-gf. From an earlier year in high school. Nick still wonders what he was thinking. She liked that he was musician, he thought she was cute. In the end, it was the "Untouchables" he hung out with that broke them out.
